Putin and Saudi Crown Prince got real bro-y at G20 and it's weirding people out
The crown prince told his close circle last August that if they failed to bring back Khashoggi "we could lure him outside Saudi Arabia and make arrangements".
Montreal-based Saudi activist Omar Abdulaziz has filed a lawsuit against Israeli company NSO Group, which he says was hired by the Saudis to hack the pair's 400 messages on the social networking app.
"We have no interest in harming the Saudi Arabian state or the Saudi royal family".
The powerful prince and his large delegation were seen being greeted on a red carpet at Algiers airport by Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia and members of his government, AFP reported.
According to Abdulaziz, who lives in Canada after fleeing Saudi Arabia, Khashoggi also pledged $30,000 to implementing their plans.
Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist and columnist for The Washington Post, went missing after entering the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on October 2.
United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Saturday doubled down on the country's support for Saudi Arabia.
The Crown Prince is set to have bilateral meetings with a number of Algerian officials on Monday, after which he will have a long meeting with Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
But US President Donald Trump has said that it does not matter if the crown prince ordered the killing of Khashoggi, who lived near Washington, because the kingdom is a major buyer of arms, supplier of oil and opponent of Iran.
But Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with his Saudi counterpart in Buenos Aires and again defended the U.S. embrace of the crown prince.
The embrace came amid reports that Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia have reached a pact to cut oil production when the OPEC cartel meets on 6 December in Vienna, to help shore up collapsing crude prices.
Western nations are calling for an end to the Saudi-led military campaign in neighboring Yemen, which was launched by Prince Mohammed, as a humanitarian crisis there worsens.
