Former President George H.W. Bush's service dog has honored his master with his own tribute in front of the late leader's flag-draped casket. He says the socks pay tribute to Bush's "lifetime of service", which started when he was an 18-year-old Naval aviator during World War II.
Trump also announced that he'll be sending one of the Boeing 747s that serves as Air Force One to Houston to transport Bush's casket to Washington, D.C.
The remains will then be transported by train for interment on the grounds of the George Bush Presidential Library in College Station, Texas.
"I think he was one of the kindest, most generous men", said Marge Frazier, who visited the downtown statue.
Sully is a highly trained service dog that began working with Bush over the summer, just a few months after the 41st president's wife Barbara Bush died in April. Many former presidents and public officials are expected to attend the funeral, including President Donald Trump. Bush's son President George W. Bush named Roberts chief justice in 2005.

Bush will lie in repose at the St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston from 7:45 p.m. ET Wednesday until 7 a.m. Thursday, and a second memorial service will be held Thursday morning at the church, starting at 11 a.m. He will be honored during several private and public events in Houston and Washington before he is buried in Texas next to his wife, Barbara, and their young daughter Robin, who died in 1953.
"As one person said, he can do just about anything except make you a martini, but not to worry, he can go get you someone to make you a martini", Bush family spokesman Jim McGrath said in June.
The seven-time Mr Olympia and action star hero built up a long and lasting friendship with the U.S. president and the 71-year-old Austrian-born superstar pointed out that Bush helped revolutionise the fitness boom in the 1990s.
The former president came back to Washington for a final time Monday. His death also reduces membership in the exclusive ex-presidents' club to four: Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
