Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder square off at a press event

LOS ANGELES - Well, at least they have a rematch clause.

Tyson Fury survived a final round knockdown as he was forced to settle for a draw with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in Los Angeles.

The two undefeated heavyweights have combined for 58 knockouts in their 67 career fights, with Deontay Wilder holding the majority of those finishes with 39.

The 30-year-old had earlier defied fears about his long break from boxing, frustrating Wilder with his jab until he was floored in the ninth round, and Fury somehow made it through the 12th after being dumped heavily on his back.

Of the three judges, one each gave it to Wilder and Fury with the third scoring it a draw. ESPN.com scored it 114-112 for Wilder, who retained his belt for the eighth time.

Meanwhile, Tyson Fury will enter tonight's highly anticipated title fight with a spotless 27-0 record, his latest win coming over Francesco Pianeta this past August.

But Fury, in part with motivation from Wilder, eventually got his life under control and returned to the ring in June after a 31-month layoff and won two fights in a row before agreeing to face Wilder.

The Gypsy King Tyson Fury says he is the People's champion.

Fury appeared to be getting the better of Wilder after the opening eight rounds, this before Deontay eventually dropped Fury in round nine.
