Naka Drotské, the former Springbok hooker, was shot during a home invasion by armed men on a smallholding outside of Pretoria last night.
"Naka was shot and is now in critical condition in hospital".
It's understood three armed assailants attacked Drotské, his business partner and fellow Rugby World Cup victor Os du Randt, and Naka's brother on a smallholding in Kameeldrift, outside Pretoria on Thursday evening.
The 47-year-old 1995 World Cup victor was shot in a tussle with one of the assailants, while Du Randt escaped harm.
"From what we hear it is stable and they think it is okay", Verster said.
"According to information we received, he sustained two gunshot wounds in his upper body and one on his leg", said Cameron. 'The children, no one else was harmed'.
Drotske is reportedly set to undergo an emergency operation.
