PorscheThe new 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S
The redesigned 2020 Porsche 911 retains the automaker's venerable styling DNA but receives upgrades in horsepower, a new interior layout inspired by 1970s models, and 21st century driving conveniences.
The 911 Carrera S and 911 Carrera 4S now each produce 331 kW, which represents an increase of 22 kW compared with the previous models.
Speaking with him on the eve of the Los Angeles motor show at the global reveal of the new 911, you get the distinct impression he's a no nonsense kind of guy that likes to push the development cars as hard as he pushed the race cars he once drove. As in the outgoing 991.2, the latest iteration of Stuttgart's icon features a turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six hanging off the back end. Porsche says this has cut 0.4 seconds off the 0-100km/h sprint with the rear-wheel drive Carrera S managing the feat in 3.7 seconds and the all-wheel drive 4S in 3.6 seconds. The optional Sport Chrono Package, which adds launch control, revised gearbox software that allows faster gearshifts and a sport response function, further reduces the 0-100kph time by 0.2s.
The exterior of the new 911 gets a slightly more muscular look, by way of the more pronounced wheel arches, the recess in the bonnet is reminiscent of the earliest 911s and a wide rear track that will remain unchanged across models. We won't see the first of the new 911s, dubbed the Type 992, until next September or October, but when we do, they'll be a little quicker, a little larger, a little smarter and better equipped. From the front, the new LED headlights and subtle bonnet strips lend a modern look, while the rear of the vehicle is characterised by a wider, extendable spoiler and the continuous light strip that recently became a part of Porsche's design language.
The updated auto is entering its eighth generation and Porsche says it "continues to set the standard when it comes to exclusive sporting performance". The car's all aluminum bodywork is wider than before, with the front growing by 1.77 inches. There are also new retractable door handles that sit flush with the body for improved aerodynamic efficiency when not in use. The rear is dominated by the significantly wider, variable-position rear spoiler and the seamless, elegant light bar which is now a feature on both two- and four-wheel drive variants.
Agility and stability should be improved thanks to the use of more aluminium in the rear section, which aids weight distribution.
One new software integration is the 'Porsche Road Trip software which helps to plan and organise routes to drive on. The central tachometer gets two frameless, free-form displays. Will you be able to tell the difference in speed between the older and newer versions? The navigation system is now an online swarm data-based system. A thermal imaging camera has been added as well. The adaptive cruise control option includes automatic distance control, stop-and-go function, reversible occupant protection, and an innovative autonomous Emergency Assist function.

Hyde-Smith said the "public hanging" comment was "an exaggerated expression of regard" for a fellow cattle rancher. With the MS runoff election underway, the young voter turnout is expected to hold a lot of weight.
Irving's 26 points lead Boston past Pelicans, 124-107
And Rose suggests the Celtics should at least shop around to see what they can get if they're willing to let Irving go. And Kyrie did lead the way, scoring 26 points to go along with 10 assists, five rebounds and five steals.
