Red Dead Redemption 2 Online Beta Starts Tomorrow

Red Dead Online Beta: Launch Dates and New Details Announced

"On Thursday, that window will open to include gamers who played the game between October 26 and October 29, and by Friday all players who own Red Dead Redemption 2 will be able to play Red Dead Online by launching the game and selecting the "Online" option in the top right of the title menu".

To start with, only owners of the Red Dead Redemption 2 Ultimate Edition will be granted access to the Red Dead Online beta on 27th November, before the saloon doors are then thrown open to all players who played the game on day one from 28th November.

We say likely because Rockstar has still said virtually nothing about it, and yet it's out tomorrow... for some people.

Red Dead Online, the multiplayer mode for Red Dead Redemption 2, now has an exact launch date, kind of. The people who played it during its launch weekend (October 26 through 29) will be able to play on November 29.

And to be more awkward, if you first explored Red Dead 2 within its first three days of release, you can play Online on Thursday.

Although that may seem a little unfair if you were slightly late joining the party it's really just a way of ensuring that not everyone logs in at the same instant and breaks the servers.

The Red Dead Online beta begins this week but it goes live at different times depending on which version of the game you own. If you're in the earliest stage, access will begin from 5.30am PT / 8.30am ET / 1.30pm United Kingdom / 12.30am AET (November 28th).

If you want to play solo, that's absolutely fine. Considering Red Dead Online will only support 32 players at launch, you should temper expectations.

Of course, introverts like me can play it alone, customizing their own outlaw and then heading off into town for a new outfit or into the wilds to get more hunting done.

There will also be Free Roam events, again, similar to GTA Online, where events kick off in the world every 30 minutes or so.
