Trump got into it with reporters today, calling one ‘a rude, terrible person’

The president's mood turned sour Wednesday after reporters pressed him on why he referred to a migrant caravan making its way to the US on foot through Mexico as an "invasion".

"Honestly, I think you should let me run the country, you run CNN and if you did it well, your ratings would be much higher", he said, adding, "That's enough".

As Acosta attempted to ask a follow-up question, the President made it clear he was moving on to another reporter.

Trump interrupted Acosta. "I'm not concerned about anything with the Russian investigation because it's a hoax".

Trump and Acosta have long have a contentious relationship as the CNN reporter often asks the president questions that seemed created to illicit a reaction from him.

Acosta finally relinquished the mic and sat down, but Trump then began to verbally berate him from the podium. "You are are a rude, bad person. You shouldn't treat people that way", he said, referring to his spokeswoman, who frequently spars with reporters during press briefings.

Trump launched into a riff about Democrats supposedly being weak on crime and illegal immigration, and he took swipes at the accuracy of NBC's coverage when Alexander tried to get him to directly answer his question.

"Okay, just sit down, please", Trump said.

"CNN is fake news", Trump said.

He and Mrs. Sanders, the White House press secretary, often clash with Mr. Acosta.

"I tell you what, CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them", he said. You're a very rude person. "You aren't the best".

"If I may ask one other question", Acosta said.

When another journalist rushes to his defence, Trump responds, "well I'm not a big fan of yours either". "You shouldn't treat people that way".

"It's such a hostile media".
