Ted Cruz and Beto O'Rourke Got Into it with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog: WATCH

Hear Me Out Beto O'Rourke Is Going to Win Texas

The latest poll: A Trafalgar Group poll out Monday has Cruz in a comfortable lead of 9 points over O'Rourke, coming in at 52.1% over 43.2%.

Triumph spoke with Democratic candidate Beto O'Rourke first and joked with him about his support with younger voters. He also distributes stickers to voters with slogans like "I'm pretty sure I voted" and "I think I voted". He asks the candidate if he's concerned that his young voters think they can vote for him through Instagram, and tries to get O'Rourke to endorse voting twice thanks to the broken voting machines.

'I love the way you are anybody but Ted Cruz, ' Triumph, as played by Colbert's former colleague Robert Smigel, told O'Rourke during their interview.

All eyes are on the Texas Senate race, and even late night hosts are getting involved.

"What do you have that Ted Cruz doesn't have?" You can see Beto trying (and failing) not to laugh. Triumph asks someone in the crowd at a Cruz rally.

Triumph then asked voters if they were impressed by the way Ted has forgiven Donald Trump, and "if Ted loses do you think he'll end up back with his first love, that mute lady from The Shape of Water, because he's a ugly fish monster!" Conservatism is a hell of a drug.

"Nobody should be yelling at this man in a public place", Triumph said, mocking calls for civility after Cruz was shouted out of a Washington, D.C. restaurant.

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog hit the campaign trail in Texas, where the puppet traded barbs with both Republican Sen.

Carrey wasn't finished in the back and forth, taking one last shot at Cruz by dragging Donald Trump into the situation.

"Just remember, it wasn't the Republicans, it was the Democrats that took you into the vet to get fixed", Cruz came back with, at his best attempt of a joke. Early voting in the state's 30 largest counties alone already exceeded the total number of ballots cast during the 2014 midterm elections in Texas.
