Dembele was forced off in the seventh minute during Tottenham's 3-2 victory over Wolves on Saturday night after picking up an ankle injury. It is about the club, it is about many things.

Dele Alli became the latest key man to sign a new long-term contract on Monday when he agreed terms on a six-year deal to take him through to 2024.

But Wolves eventually got their deserved rewards, with Ruben Neves and Jimenez both scoring penalties after fouls by 20-year-old centre-back Juan Foyth.

"We don't know but we are a little bit anxious", said Pochettino.

Tottenham's lead should have been halved before the break but Jimenez saw a goal unfortunately ruled out when the flag went up against Doherty, who was half a yard onside when he squared for the Mexican to steer past Lloris.

"He had good moments in part of the game [in the league against Spurs], he also had bad moments, but he is not the first player that needs some time to know what is the Premier League".

Foyth gave away the first of two penalties on 68 minutes with a mistimed challenge on Jimenez, although the more experienced Trippier must share some of the responsibility for losing the ball attempting a nutmeg on his own byline.

"We are very close to creating, in terms of facilities, one of the best clubs in the world", he said. Of course the manager has his expectations and so do the staff and they try to give us the main tools and then it is about our emotions, our feelings.

Tottenham have already thrown away leads against Watford (twice), Inter Milan and PSV Eindhoven this season and, having almost done so again at Wolves, captain Hugo Lloris has urged his teammates to add some pragmatism to Pochettino's philosophy and learn when to simply see out the game.

Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League with 21 points from 10 matches.

Harry Kane's eighth goal of the season gave the visitors a 3-0 lead before they almost crumbled under intense pressure from the hosts. If we have to play a different way, we have to play a different way.

"We have to stay up there as long as we can", said Kane, who scored Tottenham's third goal at Molineux. "Are we going to have the possibility to fix problems or are we going to manage in the same way?"

Amid continued interest from Real Madrid, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino believes his relationship with his players is now stronger.

It is not an easy period for Tottenham players or fans but we deserve credit. All we want to achieve one day is to win trophies'.
