Samsung unveils new camera sensors as though right on cue for the Galaxy S10
The OLED segment of its display division posted a higher profit than the previous quarter due to the demand for flexible screens, so Samsung has a basis for that strategy. The report, which was earlier discovered by SamMobile, suggests that Samsung has made a decision to go with a dual-display design and the second screen will measure 4.6 inches.
We've been hearing about Samsung's (vaporware) foldable phone, known as the Galaxy X, for an eternity now.
Meanwhile, a latest report states that the phone is expected to launch in India on November 4, while some reports confirm that the phone will launch on November 15 in select markets. And removing the headphone jack might result in loss of customers for Samsung as many people around the world also didn't like this move by Apple. The removal of the Iris Scanner will help Samsung push the display to the extreme edges, with the front camera being the only item that will retain its position within a hole in the display. He further added, "To me the appeal is obvious: we're close to the limit in mobile device screen sizes, and foldables have the ability to push that limit out quite a bit".
The Samsung Galaxy S10 has been imagined in a new render that shows off the rumoured in-display camera. However, the screen would be protected at all times and the device would be thinner and cheaper to produce. The hinge will also feature an internal gear mechanism that allows the user to fold out the screen at different angles. Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S10-lineup early next year and looks like Samsung is packing some surprises.
It is important to note that even if LG unveils a foldable smartphone in January 2019, it may not be available for purchase immediately.
"If you think about how Samsung can differentiate itself and compete in this market, it's with hardware", said Cliff Maldonado, an analyst at BayStreet Research in San Francisco.
