Barbra Streisand Says She ‘Doesn’t Enjoy’ Performing After Stage Fright Hiatus

02 November 2018, 07:58 | Myron Mathis

The Trump era will surely produce a strong, outspoken musical response, perhaps from newer artists who have yet to be heard on the national stage, but Streisand here fails to break new ground. She won her second Oscar for Best Original Song for "Evergreen" from her 1976 film A Star Is Born.

"It this is how I go out, I'll take it".

The 12-minute Carpool Karaoke was a joyful one, filled with plenty of laughs of A-list moments.

Streisand never mentions the president by name, but she doesn't have to.

"I don't want to disappoint people", she told Corden, explaining that before every show, she now says "Let go and let God".

Her magnificent voice, at times quivering with deeply felt emotion, may not be the flawless instrument for expressing pointed political anger, and the soft string accompaniment becomes a bit predictable.

While she says she no longer gets nervous nervous, she still doesn't love it. The thing that stands out the most is how much she enjoyed herself.

Streisand also opened up about the time she spoke to Apple's Tim Cook about getting the pronunciation of her name changed on Siri.

"I once called Steve Jobs when I couldn't figure out something on my computer", she said of the late Apple co-founder.

"Every song relates to something about what's going on in these hard times".

Yes, the 76-year-old is still using social media, and even tweeted a special fact about her Carpool Karaoke appearance to her fans.
