Qualcomm's Snapdragon 675 rides the multi-camera and gaming trend

Qualcomm launches Snapdragon 675, a mid-range chip designed for mobile gaming

In addition to support for triple camera setup, the Snapdragon 675 also supports capture of photos and videos at up to 25 MP, and taking snapshots at a whopping 48 MP.

Interesting fact: the processor is built on an 11-nanometer process technology, whereas all recent Qualcomm chips use 10 nm; It is unlikely that there will be a big difference in performance and heat dissipation, but the choice is quite interesting.

According to this information, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 would be slower than the Snapdragon 845, the current Qualcomm flagship SoC. There is also the support for popular tools and APIs including Vulkan, OpenGL 3.2, OpenCL, and Snapdragon profiler. We're already seeing phones like the Nokia 7.1 sport smarter chops while not using an 800-series Snapdragon.

Qualcomm has announced its all-new Snapdragon 675 Mobile Platform at its 4G/5G Summit 2018 at Hong Kong. The highlight of the Snapdragon 675 is that it supports triple camera set up at the front or back. To give mid-range phones a fighting chance, the latest Snapdragon 675 processor promises to deliver higher frame rates for smoother graphics.

The Snapdragon 675 chipset is an upgrade over Snapdragon 670 that was announced in August earlier this year.

Qualcomm has finally unveiled the next generation, Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 under the Qualcomm 600 series chipsets. The more powerful Snapdragon 710 chipset utilizes Cortex A75 cores for its two Performance CPUs. The Snapdragon 675 comes with the new Kryo 460 CPU. In terms of Artificial Intelligence, the Adreno GPU, Kyro CPU and Hexagon DSP work in tandem to deliver face unlock security with 3x faster face recognition and unlock. This was not possible in Spectra 250. The chipset supports up to three cameras with 25MP single camera or 16MP dual camera support. HD slow-motion video recording at 480FPS is also a part of the SoC package.

Qualcomm says that the Snapdragon 675 Mobile Platform is available now, and will be on consumer devices starting in the first quarter of 2019.

Among other benefits of the Snapdragon 675 were awarded to support fast-charging technology Quick Charge 4+ and the X12 LTE modem, which provides download speed of files up to 600 MB / sec. It also has Qualcomm's Aqstic Voice UI which allows users to summon multiple voice assistants without drawing much power.
