MMA UFC 229 Nurmagomedov vs McGregor

Nurmagomedov retained the UFC lightweight championship title after defeating McGregor in the fourth round.

A number of Khabib's teammates then snuck into the octagon and began assaulting McGregor, who was quite clearly shattered from the war he had previously gone through. "There were three guys from Khabib's team arrested, and they were released because Conor didn't want to press charges".

From Conor McGregor himself, the social media utterances were kept pretty short and sweet. McGregor, meanwhile, returned to the Octagon for the first time UFC 205 in 2016.

Before their UFC 229 fight, McGregor and Nurmagomedov said their feud would continue no matter what happened in the Octagon.

White said that it would be now up to the Nevada State Athletic Commission to decide if Nurmagomedov would face further sanctions. Nurmagomedov applied a neck crank and, after a hesitant tap, McGregor relented and tapped out to signal he was done.

Will we see a rematch between the two fighters is anyone's guess, but giving the open hatred shown between the two fighters and fight UFC fan's undoubtedly wanting to see if McGregor can make a comeback. "I don't know what to say right now, I'm disgusted".

However, with 3 members from Khabib's camp under arrest for assault, the Nevada fighting commission investigating the post-match shenanigans to see whether Khabib is fined or worse denied his title all remain to be seen.

"Khabib said "I'm ready for this", but I said the other 20,000 people in here aren't ready for this".

Nurmagomedov was not given the belt in the ring after the fight and was escorted from the octagon by police and security staff.

Khabib has 2 UFC records to his name with a spotless fight record of 27-0, as well as an 8 fight winning streak, more than justifying his position at the top of the MMA.
