Kylian Mbappe scored four goals, earned a penalty and also hit the post in a memorable performance for Paris Saint-Germain in a 5-0 league rout of Lyon on Sunday.

"Between Kylian, Neymar and Edinson, we really have players fighting for the Ballon d'Or".

Asked if the Mbappe-Neymar partnership is the best attacking duo in football, Tuchel replied: "One of the best yes".

After earning the penalty for Neymar's opener, the 19-year-old forward scored four goals in 13 second-half minutes to maintain PSG's flawless start to the league season.

"We have some of the best players in the world but that will be all [laughs]".

After Neymar put the hosts in front from the penalty spot early in the game, Mbappe single-handedly won a fiercely-contested match at the Parc des Princes which saw both teams reduced to 10 men in the second half.

In reality, a look at Mbappe's highlights against Lyon shows that far from there being any tension between the two, he should actually be grateful to Neymar for setting up three of his four goals.

Bruno Genesio's side have taken the scalps of Manchester City and Marseille this season, but there was no way back for them after Anthony Lopes had inexplicably raced off his line to fell Mbappe. For me he's a phenomenon.

The 19-year-old star of France's Fifa World Cup title run this year, Mbappe became the youngest player to score four goals in a French league match in 45 seasons. He is not among the favorites for the Ballon d'Or. PSG's Kimpembe was given a red card after a rough challenge in the 35th minute of the game.

Thomas Tuchel's Ligue 1 leaders broke the 82-year-old record of 8 consecutive wins set by Olympique Lillois in 1936, having equaled the mark with their 3-0 victory at Nice last weekend.

Mbappe has since made amends. "I often say that as long as an attacker is creating chances, everything is fine". "We see in each of his matches the potential that he has, he exploits it every time, even if he is only 19".
