Kanye West to meet with Trump at the White House

Pete Davidson Takes Jabs at Kanye West on 'SNL' Amid Pro-Trump Rant

The rapper, who has been a vocal supporter of Mr Trump, will also meet White House senior adviser Jared Kushner.

President-elect Donald Trump and Kanye West met in the lobby at Trump Tower, on December 13, 2016, in New York City.

Kanye West is coming to the White House. West hopes to discuss two key issues during his visit at the White House: job opportunities for ex-convicts and ways to increase manufacturing jobs in and around his hometown of Chicago.

During the presidential transition, Trump memorably brought West in front of cameras in the Trump Tower lobby for an impromptu gaggle with reporters.

The rapper has also urged NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, the first player to kneel during the pre-game national anthem in 2016, to "tell your experience directly" to Mr Trump.

Just last week, Trump praised Kanye for his SNL performance after Kanye went on another pro-Trump rant after the show last week, saying he's "leading the charge" with his support. After the show was over, West donned a "Make America Great Again" hat and went on a tear. "Thank you, Kanye West", Trump said. Kanye, I know you're like, 'Yo, this is the real me, I'm off the meds'. You heard 'em, they scream at me, they bully me.

West has faced backlash in recent months after announcing his full-throated support of the president, including in a recent "Saturday Night Live" appearance in which he said cast members "bullied" him. "If someone inspires me and I connect with them, I don't have to believe in all they policies".
