However, Whittaker was shy of reaching Christopher Eccleston's debut as the Doctor when the series was revived in 2005.
"It's been a long time since I've bought women's clothes". I mean, genuinely. I love her.
The Doctor's gender was not the only thing that felt new. (She did say she doesn't go anywhere that's just initials, but...) Enough of the special guests look dressed historically that we'd have to imagine it won't take all season to find her. It's a good sign, as Chibnall works best with these kind of emotionally complex ensemble dramas as opposed to fitting into the old mold of Doctor Who (just look at any of his previous episodes for the show). All set to the iconic Doctor Who theme song.
It's not just my friends and I who dug it, though, as it's looking like fans across the world thought it lived up to the high expectations. "You know this not a goal break for the show, this is absolutely within the rules and the law of this extraordinary series". "I think, it's a really important moment because its 2018 and we shouldn't be surprised that sometimes our heroes are women". After all, for the first time in the show's 55-year history, The Doctor, an alien who every so often "regenerates" into a new form, was played by a woman. We can evolve while still staying true to who we are. She's a curious cat, adorably self-effacing at times and admirably courageous in others - in short, the ideal qualities for a Doctor. Who's new cinematography is vast, colorful and sharp, director Jamie Childs making the most of Chibnall's Broadchurch roots to give even this Earth-based adventure a much needed facelift. Nearly all of this feels like the Doctor, albeit a version with much of the bombast and pomposity stripped out of her. We have no problem with a plot that came off fairly basic, but it suffered from also being a bit uninteresting and a bit confused.
The Doctor is a rare figure in popular culture, being a person devoted to solving problems with little more than curiosity and an huge scientific knowledge.
As for the new characters, they're all easy to like; especially the dearly departed Grace, whose death will hang over this team going forward. It will screen on the ABC on Monday nights at 5.55pm.

Other Brazilians banged pots in protest when Haddad, 55, voted in Sao Paulo, the mega-city he once ruled as mayor. Thirty parties won seats in the lower house, up from 25 represented there before the vote.
