CW Just released the first official look at Ruby Rose's Batwoman in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover. Though she will be introduced in the crossover event, Rose will then transition into her own Batwoman series, which is now in development for the 2019-20 television season at The CW.

In August, we learned that Ruby Rose will be The CW's Batwoman. Atwood has designed for movies ranging from Memoirs of Geisha to Sweeny Todd, but she's not a stranger to superheroes, having designed the iconic looks for Arrow and Supergirl, among others.

The first look at The CW's Batwoman is here.

Rose will make her debut as Kane in Elseworlds, ahead of a planned solo series set to air in 2019. Yes, that means The Flash and Supergirl are switching nights.

Ever since the announcement in July that the crossover would feature Batwoman, fan excitement has been mounting around the introduction another female lead (this one who also happens to be lesbian and ginger, two things television needs more of) to Greg Berlanti's Arrowverse.

Ruby Rose is answering the Bat-Signal, and she looks wonderful doing it.

In the comics, Kate Kane is a brilliant fighter and strategist, inspired by Batman and utilizing her training from the military academy that she attended as a young woman.

In the photo below, Rose has a full head of fiery red hair.

THR notes that with casting Rose to play Kate Kane, "The CW's superhero stable now includes an out lesbian superhero played by a lesbian actress as well as a trans actress playing a trans superhero, with activist Nicole Maines joining Supergirl as a series regular this season".
