YouTube now supports HDR playback on the new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max with the latest update.

The iPhone XS Max with 256GB could be yours for $1,249, but if you were to buy all its components it would cost about $443, compared with $395.44 for the 64GB iPhone X.

In brief: While it does boast an impressively large 6.5-inch screen, Apple's new iPhone XS Max also comes with an equally imposing price tag.

Experts have estimated the potential demand for the iPhone XS and XS Max in the short term and has come to unfavourable conclusions for Apple. The first few users of the phone have taken to various forums and discussion boards to voice their concerns about the poor cellular and WiFi reception they experienced while using the devices.

There are so many reasons that Apple's 2018 iPhone lineup is unlike its iPhones in the past. The most expensive component of the phone is the 6.5-inch Samsung display at $80. The new iPhone XS series is also the first iPhone to support dual-SIM functionality.

It's worth noting that, according to iFixIt's iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max teardown, that the LTE antenna arrangement has been altered so that may explain why the newer iPhones perform differently to the previous model under different conditions.

Previously, we covered a slight design change on the iPhone XS that could cause case compatibility problems.

The XS Max looks and feels suitably premium. By enabling the feature during the initial iPhone setup or anytime thereafter from within the phone's accessibility settings, content on the screen appears larger so that it can be seen more easily. You can either use your own camera's or watch downloadable and streamable content online like Netflix and Youtube for an excellent viewing experience.

If you don't have AppleCare+, and you break your screen, you'll be paying $279 if you have an iPhone XS, and $329 if you have the iPhone XS Max. When you get your new iPhone, it'll take you through a setup process that includes the option to restore everything from your iCloud backup over Wi-Fi. If you're already in for $1,000, what's another $100 between friends, right? Just like XS models, this model will contain the A12 Bionic chip.

Apple has finally convinced carriers to support virtual SIMs (eSIM) on iPhone, but not all mobile operators will offer it initially.

What do you think about the estimates?
