Dele Alli and Hugo Lloris are missing for Tottenham against Liverpool

Spurs host Liverpool at Wembley on Saturday in a Premier League game which had been earmarked as the opening fixture for the 62,000-seater stadium.

Pep Guardiola's side are odds-on favourites to win their second consecutive league title but Liverpool are considered their biggest challengers this season.

Redknapp, who played 240 times for the Reds and 48 games for Spurs, thinks that the home side will find it hard against Jurgen Klopp's boys.

Ahead of Spurs' match against Liverpool on Saturday, he was asked if there would be two challengers taking to the field.

The Brazilian worldwide is likely to be excluded from the starting lineup once again against Tottenham, although one can expect him to be in contention when Liverpool return to Champions League action next week.

That is bad enough for Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino but worse was to come when Alli picked up a hamstring knock while on England duty, and that means he will play no part against the Reds, who head to Wembley with a 100% record in the league this season.

"Gary should come over and tell me exactly how that would work". They are always looking for solutions in the game and play as we do. That's too complicated; you have to go into the next game and see who you can choose. "Sitting in an office talking about football is different to doing the job". I don't know exactly what it means but to focus on one competition can only be if maybe you are already out of the competition almost.

Tottenham were tipped by many to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool for the title after winning 3-0 at Manchester United last month.

"They can buy as many players as they want, but we have the same squad and we're going to go for it".

"The thing is it is absolutely no problem".

"I don't like to compare players but we had similar question about Robbo and Oxlade and I'm not sure if Sadio (Mane) played from the beginning, but I think he had a full pre-season", Klopp added.

"I think Liverpool haven't started the season excellently, but they have done a good job, and out of all the teams out there they've looked the best, and in [Virgil] van Dijk they've got one of the best defenders in the world at the moment". We need to be really good because all the other teams are so good.
