That's the magic of aspect ratios: The XR's screen is taller and narrower and goes right up to the edge of the phone, with the infamous notch at the top, so Apple can quote 6.1 inches while making a physically smaller phone.
If you want to connect your wired headphones to your shiny new iPhone, you'll now need to pay £9 for a headphone adapter.
Mind you, it might turn out to be too easy to launch the flashlight or camera if you're not careful.
However, unlike the Super HD Retina Display found in the iPhone X, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, the Liquid Retina Display in the iPhone XR relies on an miniaturized LCD display panel rather than an OLED one. Ten years into the iPhone revolution, most major websites now have a phone-friendly version that will look great and let you get down to business on that screen.
The iPhone Xs starts at $999 and will be available for pre-order on September 14. It is also running on the new 7nm A12 Bionic Chip and it retains the same 12MP f/1.8 main camera that's assisted with OIS.
Research firm CB Insights said Apple is at a "crossroads" a decade after introducing the iPhone.
That wasn't all, though - towards the end of the event, Apple revealed that it had one last trick up its sleeve: the iPhone XR, the company's newest budget smartphone offering.
Both the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max run iOS 12 out-of-the-box; Apple at the event stated that it will soon ship its two billionth iOS device.
In addition to boasting an enormous 6.5-inch edge-to-edge display, the handset's price tops out at an eye-watering $1,449 when it comes with 512GB of storage.
The iPhone XS comes with a 5.8-inch display while iPhone XS Max comes with a 6.5-inch display.
If that claim is accurate, it'll be interesting to see it in action; Face ID in the iPhone X is fast, but there's still room for improvement. Unlike the other two models, this phone comes in a variety of different colours - blue, white, black, yellow, coral and red. The front camera is the same as the iPhone XS with a 7MP f/2.2 TrueDepth camera that also supports Portrait Mode and Animoji. In real time, the processor in the iPhone instantly detects and displays performance metrics-the speed of the ball as it leaves the player's hand, the release angle of each shot, even the position of the player's legs. It supports Qi-standard wireless charging and fast charging as well - up to 50 per cent charge 30 minutes.
The XS and XS Max have dual 12-megapixel rear cameras and a dual 7-megapixel selfie camera - just like the iPhone X.
Final Fantasy Is Being Well Represented On Switch
When SquareEnix's Hajime Tabata joked that Final Fantasy XV might come to Nintendo's hybrid portable, fans bought into the hype. The same games are also coming to Xbox One, after also never being on a Microsoft console before.
