Nintendo Direct Officially Announced for Tomorrow

Nintendo is rolling out its Switch Online service next week

It'll be free for the first week but after that it'll cost £3.49 a month, £6.99 for three months, or £17.99 for a year. It sounds like starting September 18th users will be unable to unlink a Nintendo Account from a Switch User Profile. Originally set to launch in 2017, Nintendo ended up having to delay the service multiple times before eventually landing on the second half of September. A family plan serving up to eight Nintendo accounts will be priced at $34.99/€34.99 for twelve months.

The Direct will kick off from 0800 AEST / 0600 AWST / 0730 ACST / 1000 NZST tomorrow.

Once Switch Online is out the gate, you'll need an active subscription to play games online.

By the end of the month you'll no longer be able to play Nintendo games online for free, as Nintendo reschedules its cancelled Direct.

Announced via Twitter, Nintendo confirmed that their paid Nintendo Switch Online Service will be launching next week and that they will be revealing much more at tomorrow's 35-minute Nintendo Direct that will focus on upcoming Switch and 3DS titles. Nintendo Switch Online players will also get to enjoy 20 classic Nintendo games, with more to come.
