'Man Of Steel' Star Henry Cavill Is Done Playing Superman

REPORT Henry Cavill is Out as Superman in the DCEU

Man of Steel's Henry Cavill has finally responded to reports he will no longer play Superman in the DC Extended Universe - sort of. You may find nothing amusing about a bunch of conflicting reports, half-ass denials, and Henry Cavill listening to dogs sing him a song while holding a Superman action figure and staring down a camera.

There's a lot of doubt over the current state of the DC universe, with Ben Affleck expected to bow out of playing Batman, and now Superman will need replacing too.

This report comes from Deadline, who claims that Warner Bros.is now set on making a Supergirl movie as the immediate replacement for Superman after Losing Henry Cavill as the man of steel.

The news comes amid mounting reports that Warner Bros is looking to build up their new characters like Wonder Woman and Aquaman.

Warner Bros.is in the midst of remaking its DC Comics strategy following the fan and critical backlash to "Justice League" and "Batman v. Superman".

Deadline has reported that Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan is first in line to be Cavill's replacement as Superman, with studio Warner Bros "mulling a completely different direction with its Superman canon for some time".

Another bump in the road for Warner Brothers' long-struggling DC franchise: Henry Cavill will no longer appear as Superman. A proposed Superman cameo in the studio's upcoming "Shazam" feature will apparently not happen after contract talks between the actor's agents and Warner Bros. Then, just last week, we learned - though it's still not technically confirmed - that he's set to star in a Netflix adaptation of the popular video game and book series, The Witcher. The latter two were panned critically, and "Justice League" was a box-office disappointment.

Henry Cavill, core Justice League member and arguably one of the greatest on-screen superheroes to date, is ostensibly finished with Superman. Among the plans is a solo Supergirl movie rather than another Superman.
