Real Madrid defender Ramos also said he had no concerns about the treatment he might receive from England supporters on his first visit to the country since tangling with Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah in the Champions League final.

Isco was reportedly unhappy with criticism of his World Cup performances by the journalist in question, Spain having exited to hosts Russian Federation in the round of 16.

Spain went on to endure a poor tournament in Russian Federation, only winning one group game before being knocked out on penalties by the hosts.

Led by Fernando Hierro, Spain surprisingly lost on penalties to the hosts to mark a pretty disastrous World Cup campaign which saw Julen Lopetegui sacked just one day before the tournament started.

"I have a clear conscience", he said.

Enrique's first match in charge of La Roja will be Saturday against England in the UEFA Nations League.

We want to absorb Enrique's knowledge."It is a new coach which always demands more attention".

Aspas knew his place was not certain under Luis Enrique.

Luis Enrique now has the task to get Spain back on top.

"I'm delighted to have him and I hope he stays with us for many years and he keeps pushing his team-mates - on and off the pitch - to victory".

One of the biggest questions facing Spain right now is how, exactly, they replace Gerard Pique, Andres Iniesta and David Silva following their global retirements.

"I know I was among the candidates to go as full-back".

However, Madrid skipper Ramos insists his first impressions of a former rival in Luis Enrique have been positive.

"I think it's a similar situation to what happened with the Spanish national team under Luis Aragones in around 2006".

Coaches appear to be linking players' lack of focus in matches to their obsession with cellphones and social media, with Enrique joining Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola as managers dishing out sanctions and regulations with regards to players' use of cellphones. Spain has disappointed in the last two World Cups, losing in the group stage and the round of 16.
