Fake stars bearing Donald Trump's name have popped up on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after his original one was vandalized.

The anonymous creator of the fake stars and friends who helped paste them down, calling themselves "The Faction", told THR they spent about $1,000 on the fake stars, which they printed on sheets of floor vinyl.

The damage done to Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame that was vandalized, July 25, 2018, in Los Angeles.

"I didn't want to get hit over the head from behind. We thought Trump Derangement Syndrome was a joke, but I'm pretty sure it's real", the artist said of the process of placing the stars.

Just throwing it out there, but they've announced that they're keeping the star of Bill Cosby.

The artist and several others put the replica stars, which were made of vinyl and laminated, on blank squares on the Walk of Fame, according to the Reporter.

HCOC president Leron Gubler said the chamber will consider the proposal - however he warned that there are no current plans to remove it and no star has ever been removed before.

A Walk of Fame maintenance crew member said workers began removing the stars at 5 a.m. Thursday, and eventually "found about 50 stars".

Monday's vote came after a man accused of taking a pickax to the star last month was charged with a felony count of vandalism.

Trump's derisive comments about women, his policy of separating families at the border, and his denial of Russian interference in the 2016 election were also cited as reasons.

Trump's star was unveiled in 2007 and was awarded for his work on "The Apprentice".
