Trump Calls Omarosa a ‘Lowlife’ in Response to Book Claims

12 August 2018, 06:53 | Myron Mathis

The book alleges that Manigault Newman was offered $15,000 a month from the president's campaign coffers to stay silent after she was sacked from the White House last December.

The book is set for release on Wednesday.

That goes double for the more outlandish claims in the book, such as the claim that Trump brought a tanning bed into the White House, an episode where Trump allegedly ate a piece of paper after a meeting and Trump's purported racist comments aimed at Kellyanne Conway's half-Filipino husband.

Manigault Newman claims she personally witnessed Trump using derogatory language while in the White House. "She claims to have heard from someone who heard from me that I heard Trump use the N-word".

"Ultimately, the credibility of her accusations will rest primarily on what she can produce on audio tape", he writes.

The US President keeps a tanning bed in the White House to maintain his very distinctive hue, according to a former member of his staff. But that offer came along with a stringent nondisclosure agreement that was as "harsh and restrictive" as she had seen while working in television. At the time, a source familiar with her departure told the Guardian that she had always been uncomfortable defending the Trump administration as the most prominent African American woman in the White House.

Manigault Newman went on to become Assistant to the President and Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison.

The book also says that there are tapes of Trump saying these slurs, but was never able to get a hold of them.

The White House responded by slamming the book and its author and chastising the press for writing about it.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders criticized Unhinged as "riddled with lies and false accusations".

But CNN reports that The White House has called Omarosa a "disgruntled former employee" who is trying to make a buck off of fake stories.
