Where to see the last partial solar eclipse of 2018

When the Moon covers part of the Sun, the phenomenon is called partial solar eclipse.

This partial solar eclipse will be directly visible to parts of the Northern Hemisphere, though this does not include India.

However, India will not be able to watch it and only certain parts of the world such as North and East Asia, Scandinavia in Europe, Iceland, Greenland and the icy regions of Canada around Nunavut and the Northwest Passage will be able to see it, the report said.

Canadians will only be able to spot it early in the morning in Nunavut, but the rest of the country - and the entire USA - will be out of luck.

Those who reside in areas where the eclipse will be visible, must be warned that they should not look at the Sun directly.

What's the difference between a lunar and solar eclipse? The first solar eclipse this year was in February.

The partial solar eclipse which is occurring today will not be visible in India but you can still witness it through your naked eyes while sitting comfortably on your couch.

Solar eclipse will start at 01:02 pm PST (Pakistan Standard Time) while, it will end at 04:21 pm PST.

Where can you see the solar eclipse?

What is a partial solar eclipse?

When the Sun, Moon and Earth are aligned in a straight line, an eclipse occurs. Just over a year ago, millions across North America were anxiously awaiting the "Great American Solar Eclipse" of August 21. In case of a total lunar eclipse, Earth comes between the Sun and Moon's path, and blocks sunlight from reaching the satellite.

There are various interesting facts about the solar eclipse which you should know. The moon will cover approximately 73% of the sun when the eclipse is at its peak, according to NASA. According to GSFC map, partial solar eclipse 2018 will be seen over North Pole and eastern parts of Siberia. If done otherwise, it will still remain a good idea not just limited to solar eclipse. So that's two eclipses, one solar and one lunar, linked by the moon's orbit.

According to the American Astrological Society (AAS), partial solar eclipses can be very risky to look at with the naked eye.

One of the easiest and most cost effective ways to view the eclipse is to make a pinhole camera at home to safely watch the eclipse.
