Man Utd transfer news Where Paul Pogba wants to play revealed by French journalist

Manchester United fans were certainly pleased with Paul Pogba's performance vs Leicester City in the first match of the Premier League season.

"I think Mr [Richard] Scudamore must be happy because it's a good way to start the Premier League".

During United's pre-season tour to America, Mourinho ran through a list of players who could wear the armband if Valencia did not play.

"I think football is changing and managers should be called head coaches".

"I don't think Jose Mourinho's outbursts are him, I think it's at the Ed Woodward situation".

"When Sir Alex Ferguson was there, they got them over the line but when David Moyes went, he couldn't get players over the line and in the end, he got Everton players because he knew them and could sign them".

"It was not easy to manage the game from the touchline, but I told the players we had good periods, lots of glimpses of the type of football we wanted to play". It was a good match with three good teams, in my opinion.

Even before the summer, there were rumours linking the Frenchman with a move away from Old Trafford.

Pogba spoke after the 2-1 win over the Foxes, which saw Luke Shaw grab his first senior goal, pointing out that wants more silverware with his club.

Mourinho went on to command his "monster" performance and determination to last nearly the entire match despite a minimal break, but the 25-year-old invited intrigue with a late night social media post. Paul [Pogba] was fantastic - his contribution was awesome, but the fuel was disappearing every minute, so we were in trouble and we needed [Scott] McTominay and [Marouane] Fellaini to give me that balance in midfield.

It was definitely a positive night for United, who picked up three points against hard opponents - and there is lots more to come from them.

"Of course the performance wasn't the best, but it's better to start like this and finish well than start very well and finish bad".

Mourinho also confirmed Pogba had his blessing to take the penalty after what appeared to be a disagreement with Alexis Sanchez. "We will have the same players, the injured players are not going to be back", said Mourinho. I was among the names as well.

"It was tough for Harry Maguire, he gave his best and had a good game". It's not a problem, it's the win that is most important'.
