Trump warns nations from trading with Iran amid USA sanctions

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said his country will not oppose third-country mediation between the US and Iran.

During his meeting with North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho in Tehran on Wednesday, Rouhani warned him that U.S. was "an unreliable and untrustworthy" negotiating partner that did not honour "any of its commitments". It also follows Trump's June meeting with Kimin Singapore.

The foreign minister also scolded the U.S., arguing that the decision of pull out from the Iran nuclear deal in May made the White House an untrustworthy partner to hold negotiations with.

A United Nations panel of experts has expressed concern over military collaboration between Iran and North Korea in the past.

Soo Kim, a former CIA intelligence analyst who specializes in North Korea, said that the Iran visit sent a message to the global community.

'We are pleased to see German businesses stopping their trade with Iran, complying with USA sanctions, and helping pressure the Iranian regime back to the table, ' he tweeted.

Rouhani in a meeting with visiting North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-hu on Wednesday again criticized the USA for its withdrawal from the nuclear deal.

"America has zigzagged constantly, so now no one trusts them", he said.

He has been facing criticism for his alleged mismanagement of the country's high unemployment rate, the downward spiral of Iran's national currency rial against the U.S. dollar as well as the conduct of certain financial and credit institutions.

North Korea achieved several technical milestones in its weapons program previous year - launching its first three intercontinental ballistic missiles and conducting its most powerful nuclear test to date.

Tehran and Pyongyang are suspected by some of exchanging nuclear and ballistic missile technology. The North claimed it could reach anywhere in the mainland U.S.

Following Trump's announced USA departure from the deal in May, the White House has, through 17 rounds, sanctioned 38 Iran-related targets.

When talking about Iran's right to the Strait of Hormuz, Rouhani had commented that Americans "should know that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace, and war with Iran is the mother of all wars".

Lankov added: "North Koreans tend to make alliances with anti-American radicals of any kind".

He doubled down on that sentiment Wednesday saying that before U.S. sanctions "nobody supported Iran".

North Korean state media lashed out at the US on Monday for its determination to maintain sanctions against the DPRK while negotiations on its nuclear program are ongoing, describing it as the "tragicomedy of the century". Tehran has maintained that its missiles are not created to carry nuclear weapons.
