Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro arrives on shelves in August

PS4 Pro 500 Million Play Station 4 Gold Headphones 4

While the 500 Million Limited Edition DualShock 4 does come with the system, it can also be purchased as a standalone item for $64.99. To thank the gamers and everyone who purchased these systems, Sony has announced a very special PlayStation 4: the 500 Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro, which will be available on August 24, 2018.

The original PlayStation console first launched in 1994 and since then Sony has sold a staggering 525.3 million consoles, including the PlayStations 2 to 4 and the PSP and PS Vita portables. Like the console, these two accessories will be a dark, translucent blue with copper accents.

The other standout feature is that it comes with a 2TB hard drive, doubling the capacity of current PlayStation 4 Pro consoles. It's more than just a bog-standard PS4 Pro, though. Also bundled with the console is a PlayStation Camera. There's only going to be 50,000 of these made and each will have a commemorative copper plate on its front, with its limited edition serial number etched into it. Sony tells gamers to be on the lookout for certain special serial numbers, which include 09995, the United States launch date of the original PlayStation, and 01115, the United States launch date for the PS4. To celebrate the milestone, the company is launching a Limited Edition 500 Million version of the PS4 Pro. Another serial number to keep an eye out for is 01013, which is the United States launch date of PSVR.

The controller will also be available separately, alongside a "Gold Wireless Headset 500 Million Limited Edition". But hey, if anyone's willing to toss me $500, I'll be happy to pick up one and show it off for you. Find a list of retailers / websites participating in the sale of the console here: United States, Canada, Europe.
