Cowboy Ninja Viking is set to be another big franchise for star Chris Pratt. Earlier, it was believed that she has opted herself out of Bharat, owing to her wedding but soon, her Hollywood project with Chris Pratt got an official confirmation.

Chris Pratt and Priyanka Chopra were set to star, with Game of Thrones and Westworld director Michelle MacLaren helming the story about a new type of assassin who manifests the toughest skills of three different personas - that of cowboy, ninja and viking. According to Hollywood entertainment portal, the producers of Cowboy Ninja Viking have removed the film from the release calendar.

The film version of Cowboy Ninja Viking features a screenplay originally written by Zombieland and Deadpool scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, which was rewritten by Craig Mazin (The Hangover Part II, Identity Thief).

When the film might score another release date remains to be seen, but Universal certainly seems to think it'll still get made; just not yet.

While the film is now delayed indefinitely, according to Collider it's said to still be very much in active development. The project is based on the Image Comics graphic novel by by AJ Lieberman and illustrator Riley Rossmo. It's still in "active development" though, with both Pratt and MacLaren attached. Yes, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has turned a huge profit for Universal, but the sequel will still come in about $400 million below the first film, and let's not forget that Pratt's expensive sci-fi movie Passengers, which paired him with a strong box office draw in Jennifer Lawrence, barely turned a profit.

Are you sad that Cowboy Ninja Viking is experiencing a bit of a delay?
