Substitute Teacher Offers Keith Urban Cash to Pay for Items at New Jersey Wawa

A woman who thought she was helping a down-and-out man pay for his food at a bowser in the U.S. ended up footing the bill for country music star Keith Urban.

"We decided when we saw military people we would treat them at Wawa or Dunkin Donuts or whatever", she said.

A few years ago she made it a New Year's resolution to do it weekly.

But Reed was suspicious and said she got a little "snippy" with him.

She says, 'It was then I realized what an idiot I was'.

Reed, a teacher in Medford for more than 30 years before retiring and now working as a substitute, said picking up Urban's tab is part of her regular routine at the popular South Jersey convenience chain. This was remarkable to Reed because the man looked just like Australian country singer Keith Urban.

"I argued with him that he was not Keith Urban", Reed said.

"I asked him his and told me it was Keith".

"I said, 'Really? Really?"

She asked where his wife Nicole Kidman was and he introduced the woman he was with as his sister. A story is making the rounds on the internet that woman living in New Jersey loaned a man cash to buy a coffee, but didn't know exactly who he was. "I didn't think he had enough money to pay for his things so I said I would pay for it", Reed, 50, told local news outlet CBS3.

Reed said that's when she noticed his body guards and realized she really had paid for Keith Urban.

Ever gracious, Urban posed for a photo with Reed outside the gas station.

"And he really could have said, 'Lady, get away from me!'" she said.
