Rain soaks Berks; flash flood watch in effect
The flood watch extends into Wednesday, and until it expires, drivers should be alert to the possibility of high water in some places due to consistent rain and storms.
The upper-level low which prompted several rounds of strong thunderstorms over the weekend is spinning around just to our west this morning and it will meander close by for at least the first half of the week.
It is moving slowly to the southeast.
The region's unsettled weather pattern continues, bringing the chance of soaking rains and flooded streets.
The storm is moving to the northeast and could produce quarter-sized hail along with 60 miles per hour winds.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Custer County, including the communities of Westcliffe and Silver Cliff. With the ground already saturated, it won't take much additional rain to produce localized flooding, especially in areas of poor drainage and along smaller streams and creeks.
Thai boys ordained as Buddhist novices
The 11 boys, ages 11 to 16, became Buddhist novices in a Wednesday ceremony, while their 25-year-old coach was ordained as a monk. The boys will live as monks for nine days starting on Wednesday, Chiang Rai officials said in a statement on Sunday.
