Rudy Giuliani says Michael Cohen should cooperate with federal investigators

Mueller has been investigating Russian links to the Trump campaign and whether the president obstructed justice by firing James Comey, the former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who was heading the agency's Russia probe before Mueller was appointed to take it over.

"I have no concerns that Michael Cohen is going to do anything but tell the truth", he said.

Lawyers for Mr. Trump had been eyeing early July as a possible time for an interview with the special counsel, likely at Camp David or the White House and lasting for about 2½ hours.

Giuliani's comments echo statements he made Friday to the New York Times in which he said the president's team would discuss an interview if the Mueller investigation "show [s] us the basis and that it's legitimate and that they have uncovered something".

Mueller is a Republican, as is Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein, the Trump appointee who is overseeing Mueller's investigation.

Cohen's home, office and a hotel room in NY were raided by the FBI in April as part of an investigation into his business dealings.

The president, as well as Giuliani, have often used media interviews and or social media to deride the special counsel's investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election, usually referring to the probe as a "witch hunt" orchestrated by "13 Angry Democrats" hell-bent on rectifying the 2016 election.

"It's our firm belief, and we think nothing contradicts this, the president did nothing wrong", Giuliani said.

"We've been through everything on collusion and obstruction".

Speaking on Sunday, Giuliani seemed unfazed by the recent developments - noting that Cohen "should cooperate with the government".

"It's hard to believe that anymore", he said. "We wouldn't be lawyers if we would do that". "I have debriefed all their witnesses", he said. He added: "This is the most corrupt investigation I have ever seen".

Trump is "close" to making a determination, but he's been putting off deciding as more details emerge about "bias" on the part of investigators, Rudy Giuliani said on one of three scheduled television appearances on Sunday.

Cohen also is undergoing a change in his legal team.

Mr. Strzok didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.

Rudy Giuliani told ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos on "This Week" Sunday that he has "zero" concerns about Cohen, who once described himself as "the guy who would take a bullet" for Trump.

Giuliani claimed on ABC that Comey's testimony was "hardly worth anything" because Trump had a right to fire him.

Giuliani says he has advised Trump that there should be "no discussion of pardons", adding that is "something you can decide down the road". Mr. Cohen has denied any wrongdoing.
