With this win, the Men in Blue sealed the three-match series 2-1.

Rohit Sharma destroyed England with his third T20 global century so that India took the series 2-1 after Eoin Morgan's side had made only 198 for nine at Bristol. Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten with him on 100.

Some poor bowling from Indian pacers, who either sprayed the ball or bowled too short, helped England in making a bright start.

India skipper Virat Kohli: "The comeback from the bowlers was outstanding".

A long tour of England can bring contingencies, and India responded gloriously to the first of those to maintain their clean sheet in T20I bilateral series of three matches.

India have won five consecutive bi-lateral series stretching back to September 2017.

- Mahendra Singh Dhoni becomes the first player to take five catches in a T20I.

The Indian captain began to gain in confidence as he hit another six off Plunkett before he fell victim of Jordan in the 15th over, caught and bowled by the bowler in a soft dismissal.

Kohli also admitted that losing three wickets in quick succession is a hard task for other batsman to recover, and in the decider match the batsman need to pull up their socks. Despite an overall record that compared favourably with Kane Williamson and Steve Smith - similar styles of player who commanded big fees this year, although Smith pulled out of his contract after the ball-tampering affair - Root was left unsold in the auction.

Jason Roy and Jos Butler opened the batting for England and smashed the ball all over for boundaries.

Veteran M.S. Dhoni was also at his best behind the stumps, taking five catches and effecting one brilliant run out in the last ball of England's innings to get Jordan's wicket. Nearly every ball that hit the middle of the bat went to the boundary and even the top edges found the ropes. "Just hit our areas better I guess", Kohli said at the post match presentation ceremony.

For Indi, a it was a matter of just spending enough time in the middle. A single brought Roy on strike who brought up his half-century with a six, taking only 23 balls to get there and becoming the second-quickest Englishman to do so.

Kaul finally ended the carnage by rattling the stumps as Buttler tried to swipe across the line. The opening pair put on 94 before Buttler was bowled by Siddarth Kaul (2-35) at the end of the eighth over.

Chahar then got his first global scalp with a slower delivery that the unsafe Roy flicked to Dhoni behind the stumps. You can also follow our live blog for ball-by-ball updates and analysis on cricketnext.com.
