Daniel Cormier trips, falls at UFC 226 presser

It appears that the UFC has finally dodged a bullet after three straight years of last-minute cancellations for its traditional International Fight Week show. Light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and featherweight champion Max Holloway check in to begin their fight week duties.

The incident happened just after the press conference wrapped as Cormier started to walk off the stage before tripping over a speaker that was set nearby his seat. He went down hard, and limped off the stage.

The good news is that the UFC 226 main event does not seem to be in any kind of peril.

"I didn't see the speaker and don't know why it was there", Cormier said. "A member of DC's camp told ESPN: "[Cormier's] not happy about the spill today. Cormier, meanwhile, who is unbeaten as a heavyweight, looks to enter the conversation of the greatest fighters in Octagon history by becoming only the second to hold two titles simultaneously.

It's starting to feel like Saturday night's UFC 226 is a cursed event.

While it was certainly a scary moment at what should have been the easiest part of fight week, there's no need for fight fans to panic.
