RCMP announce arrest in Humboldt bus crash

Police said the uninjured truck driver was initially detained but later released and provided with mental health assistance.

"It should put a little closure to the first step and the second step is. let's see what the courts do and find out what exactly happened".

The speed of vehicle, point of impact, position of vehicles, impairment, road and weather conditions, and witness evidence were all considered, RCMP said. Our organization has faith in the justice system and we will be watching closely as this court process plays out.

The team says it is focused on supporting those who were impacted by the tragedy. Every piece of information was carefully examined.

Police say the charges of unsafe driving causing death and risky driving causing bodily harm could carry prison sentences of upwards of 14 and 10 years, respectively.

"The Humboldt Broncos thank the RCMP and its investigators for their work". Another meeting was held for families of victims in Edmonton.

He said there was a core team of 20 investigators, supplemented by 100 additional investigators, that have worked on the case over the last three months.

A Calgary man is facing 29 criminal charges related to a fatal bus crash that involved the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team.

"I think this is the best outcome, there's consequences for your actions and I think that was the right choice, to lay charges". The charges can carry up to 14 years and 10 years in prison, respectively.

Ten players, aged 16-21, were killed, along with six adults - the bus driver, an athletic therapist, the head coach, an assistant coach and two employees of Humboldt's FM radio station. "This is the max they can do", Boulet said.
