GETTYPresident Hassan Rouhani warned Iran could soon halt exports of oil to neighbouring countries

European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini says world powers and Iran have agreed to continue talking, including on economic measures, over how to save the 2015 nuclear deal.

The Iranian president expressed hope that this issue will be raised at the meeting of foreign ministers from JCPOA signatory states with Iranian representatives, due on July 6 in Vienna.

Under the JCPOA, Iran undertook to put limits on its nuclear program in exchange for the removal of nuclear-related sanctions imposed against Tehran. Even though Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the USA actions "de-facto disrupted the agreement", thus giving Iran a right to withdraw from it as well, the Islamic Republic would not exercise this right, according to Lavrov.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif have embarked on a European tour to save the nuclear deal and to safeguard trade with Tehran and guarantees for Iranian oil sales.

If Iran can not sell its oil due to USA pressure, then no other regional country will be allowed to do so either, Jafari was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency.

The first group of sanctions on Iran's automotive sector, gold trade, and other industries will "snap back" on August 4.

Reuters reports that whether the bank will invest in Iran is in doubt.

During a visit to Europe this week President Hassan Rouhani warned that Iran could reduce its co-operation with the United Nations nuclear watchdog, having already threatened Trump of the "consequences" of fresh sanctions against Iranian oil sales.

"We all have in mind a timeframe that is dictated by U.S. sanctions, meaning measures need to be carried out before the sanctions".

He noted that he would inform Iranian officials on the Friday meeting and "most senior level" authorities would make the final decisions about the time and details of future steps.

"These initiatives are aimed at preserving the nuclear deal which is in the security interest of all", said the joint statement read out by European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.

Again, this could be interpreted as a threat or a statement of policy.

"What is important is that we know and we are certain that we want to stay in the deal and we believe that dialogue should continue in peace", she was quoted as saying.

"We must put in place measures that allow Iran to trade as long as it meets its commitments", he told RTL radio in France, cautioning that the new steps may take until November when numerous sanctions take effect.

She noted that such cooperation would be "through direct bilateral efforts and through engagement with worldwide partners in order to encourage them to follow the same policies and to establish similar mechanisms in their economic relations with Iran".

The diplomats said they remained committed to the 2015 accord and to building up economic relations with Iran, including "the continuation of Iran's export of oil and gas" and other energy products.

Praising Rouhani's "firm stance" against the United States, the head of the Revolutionary Guards said their forces were ready to block the Strait of Hormuz which links the Gulf to the open sea.

"The US [officials'] statement in this regard is unilateralism...and a breach of all global rules and regulations in energy and trade sectors", Rouhani said.

Lavrov urged new ways of trading with Iran if Washington restores sanctions against Tehran. It is unsurprising that the USA is using this as an excuse to issue a bunch of new statements about their military commitment, and is liable to be an excuse for more U.S. naval operations along the Iranian coast.

The model set as revolutionary thinking with reliance on people, was in fact the foundation of pillars of sacred defense of the Iranian people in the geography of Islamic resistance, bringing historical triumphs against the Takfiri terrorists and proxy wars, he said.
