Can LeBron James Still Attract the Best NBA Talent?
05 July 2018, 08:52 | Jodi Jackson
The most sought after free agent in Basketball has finally chosen his next destination, and LeBron James' decision to join the LA Lakers has had a huge impact on NBA betting markets. However, not to be outdone, the Warriors quickly countered with a big splash, inking all-star centre DeMarcus Cousins to a one-year deal, and cementing their position as heavy -185 chalk to claim a third straight National Basketball Association title.
"The Warriors can sign Boogie, Prince, Michael Jordan, anybody they want".
Getty Former rivals Lance Stephenson and LeBron James are teaming up in Los Angeles. Ball said. "You don't give my son the best player in the game and don't think he gonna win no championships!" James did return in 2014 and led the Cavs to the 2016 NBA title, ending a 52-year sports championship drought for Cleveland, before departing for the Lakers in the wake of four consecutive NBA Finals appearances for Cleveland.
Ball acknowledged that there would be occasions when James initiated the Lakers' offense, at which point "he's going to throw the long pass and Lonzo will shoot the 3-pointer - very easy". Ball had been mentioned in trade rumors, prior to news breaking that he was recovering from a torn meniscus. After all, they're only for one year, and the Lakers probably aren't contending this year anyway.
"Lonzo's not 6'1 or 6'2 like Kyrie [Irving]. Lonzo's not ball-dominant where he's just dribbling the ball and you watching him to do a crossover".
Let's be clear: coming to terms with LeBron James when he is still performing at historic levels, even without having to lure him in by first adding another star player, is a major coup for the Lakers.
The 26-year-old is a versatile player who can stuff the stat sheet, as evidenced by his averaging 9.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game with the Indiana Pacers last season. But regardless of what happens, James made his commitment clear and that allows the Lakers front office to be patient in putting the right team around him. However, his strong offensive efforts through the season and the Playoffs was not enough as the Cavaliers lost to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.
Netflix plots price hikes with subscriptions overhaul
Promotional material for this new streaming package indicates that it would essentially be the same as the current "Premium" tier. However, with the Ultra plan, Netflix appears to halve the number of concurrent streams from four to two for Premium subscribers.
