Mysterious Motorola video has us wondering what ‘big announcement’ is in store

Motorola event: A new Android One phone cometh!

Like the One Power, the device has a notched screen with a dual camera and the distinctive Android One branding.

Motorola's likely running under the assumption that most of the world doesn't frequent tech news blogs here in 2018, so it's pretty likely the event will indeed contain the Moto One. In the image above, the One is on the left and One Power on the right. Specifications of the Motorola One Power are mostly known at this point, but the Motorola One remains a mystery. The Moto One Power was sighted in the wild last week and we thought it could just be called the One.

Back at the end of May, AndroidHeadlines exclusively revealed details about an upcoming smartphone from Motorola, the Motorola One Power, in addition to providing the first proper look at the new phone thanks to an official press render.

It's a day full of new Motorola phone releases.

Generally speaking, the Motorola One looks a lot like the Motorola One Power.

As far as the differences between the Motorola One and Motorola One Power, sources say the Motorola One will be a slightly smaller smartphone when compared to the One power, and that there will be a few key differences. And today, the brand has confirmed the launch of Moto E5 Plus in India and of course, it's teasing the big battery.

Design-wise, the Motorola One and Motorola One Power are similar. It will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, a dual rear-facing camera and a 3870 mAh battery.

What's more, Motorola will apparently be going "all-in" with Google's Android One platform and that the Motorola One lineup, in all its variants, will be Android One handsets. No word on pricing and availability yet but we'll let you know as soon as we hear more details on August 2, 2 PM, during the launch at the Motorola headquarters in Chicago.
