Have a problem with your internet? The source of the problem, as it turns out, was a fiber cable being cut by one of Comcast's partners. This is manifesting as problems booting into PlayStation Network or Twitter even if some other websites and services continue to function.
If you couldn't reach your favorite web sites today at about 12:30 p.m. ET, it wasn't just you.
According to various statements provided by Comcast through the Comcast Cares Twitter account, the company now has no timeline for when services may be restored.
Since 2015, Comcast has had more broadband customers than pay-TV ones (the levels now stand at about 26 million broadband and 22 million pay-TV) but remains the leader in both categories. Comcast said in the statement it believes other providers were also affected.
"It is now affecting our business and residential internet, video and voice customers", the company said.
