Grandmother kills bobcat with bare hands after it attacks her

Brave woman strangles and kills rabid bobcat - Tamil Movie News

The Athens-Banner Herald reported that DeDe Phillips of Hart county had gone outside on 7 June to take a picture when the bobcat lunged at her.

"She yelled that the animal had attacked her and she was afraid that if she let go it would continue to attack her", the report said. "I grabbed it by the shoulders and pushed it back away from me...and I took it down".

"As soon as it took the first step, I was in trouble and I knew it", said Phillips.

Phillip's saw the bobcat under her SUV.

She believes if she hadn't killed the rabid animal, it would have killed her.

"I thought, 'not today, '" she told the newspaper. "There was no way I was going to die". She didn't call out for help until she thought the big cat was dead as she didn't want her young granddaughter to venture out into the vicinity of the wildcat.

The attack led to Phillips suffering a broken finger and numerous bite and claw wounds to her hands, arms, chest and legs.

She snapped a photo of the cat and it 'took two steps and was on top of me.it came for my face'.

After strangling the cat and finding that it was lifeless, Phillips asked her daughter in law to ring up 911.

It also says the attack has left her with limited use of her hands.

These animal rescuers found out that the kittens they had rescued were actually bobcat cubs.

Now, Phillips is having to undergo rounds of vaccines to protect her from the virus.

Phillips is being treated for the rabies infection, treatments that cost almost $10,000 per shot, and she needs 10 of those.

Phillips' cousin has set up an account to raise money for medical expenses.
