Los Angeles District Attorney's office spokesman Greg Risling did not give details but said the case was presented by police in the California beach city of Santa Monica.

In December, the 71-year-old Rocky star was accused of sexually assaulting a woman during an alleged meeting at his office in 1990. Late a year ago, Marty Singer, Stallone's attorney, said his client "categorically disputes" the accusation and added that the woman filed the report to get media attention.

The Santa Monica PD said it has turned over all interviews and notes to a special Los Angeles D.A. task force.

He acknowledged that Stallone had a relationship with the alleged victim while shooting a movie in Israel in 1987 while he was single. "At no time was Mr Stallone ever contacted by any authorities or anyone else regarding this matter".

Police in Santa Monica and Stallone´s attorney, Martin Singer, could also not be reached for comment.

Stallone's rep called the Las Vegas allegation "a ridiculous, categorically false story".

He was most recently seen with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office in May, when the president granted a posthumous pardon to boxing's first black heavyweight champion, Jack Johnson, Time reported.
