Their presence sparked a melee and video footage emerged of the Dubliner throwing objects at a bus full of fighters after a news conference at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.

Irish mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor is due in court in NY for a hearing on charges stemming from a backstage melee that was caught on camera.

Court documents show McGregor and fellow Irish fighter, Cian Cowley allegedly caused bruising, cuts and substantial pain to other athletes who were in Brooklyn for the UFC 223 card.

"I don't know what's going to happen", White told TMZ.

Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor was in court on Thursday morning (June 14, 2018).

McGregor has come out and said yesterday and today to various media outlets that he expects to be cleared on all charges.

McGregor has a hearing in a NY courtroom Thursday related to his alleged attack.

Reports in America are saying that McGregor is working on a plea deal as he could face seven years in prison for the incident. "I'm pretty confident [a lightweight title fight] is a fight that Conor wants, and I'm pretty confident that is a fight Khabib wants".

The men were brought into court by an entourage, but after appearing inside for a short time, the presiding judge adjourned the matter until July 26.

McGregor has not fought for the UFC since his TKO win over Eddie Alvarez in November 2016.
