Robbie here doing what no England player will be doing this summer by actually lifting a trophy

Robbie Williams will help kick off The World Cup in Russia

"Through these partnerships, as well as groundbreaking innovations and the use of new technology, we are completely transforming the World Cup fan experience from simple viewing to a total multiplatform immersion, in order to satisfy even the most die-hard soccer cravings".

The opening ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. local time (10:30 a.m. ET), just 30 minutes before Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia spar off to officially commence this year's World Cup.

"I'm so happy and excited to be going back to Russian Federation for such a unique performance".

Williams has been criticized in the United Kingdom for agreeing to perform at the World Cup. The opening game is between Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia and it follows the ceremony, beginning at 11 a.m. ET, according to FIFA. Instead of holding the ceremony an hour before the opening game of the tournament, it will be held just before the start of the game, so we set the stage for the match.

It has been a long four-year wait to obsess for a month again over FIFA World Cup soccer with vuvuzela's blaring. "Of course it is also an emotional one for the hosts".

"We'd like to invite football and music fans to party with us in Russian Federation, in the stadium, or to tune in their TVs a little earlier for an unforgettable show", Williams said.

"Football is truly loved here". The mega showpiece event kicks off tonight straight after the grand opening ceremony. The final takes place at the 81,000-capacity Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday, 15 July.
