Gareth Southgate's England side might want to be practising their penalties when they're not in action at the World Cup in Russian Federation this month, but there will be also be ample opportunity for the squad to enjoy a spot of golf.

"It's different now. I think if you asked every single player what the difference is now they would say that we are prepared as a team for every scenario".

"Obviously, I understand you've got the Champions League and Premier League - so many big competitions - but, for me, I don't think it gets much bigger than the World Cup.I would love to win everything with Tottenham but, for me, personally, the World Cup outweighs them all", he said.

But Southgate insists that his players are primarily determined to entertain and ensure that England at least enjoys a feel-good factor during the tournament.

"We are seeing a team that is enjoying each other's company, getting on well, is very proud to represent the nation".

Fran Jones, Head of Partnerships, Tottenham Hotspur, said: "As a Club, we are privileged to have millions of supporters across the world who travel far and wide to support the team". We know everything else comes on the back of that.

"Everybody wants the end result, and everyone wants to go and win".

Kane, though, told the English daily newspapers this is not the case with the present group under Gareth Southgate - as many of them have played with each other at Under-21 level.

While England's cricket and rugby union sides are struggling to inspire, Southgate and his Three Lions jet to Russian Federation today looking to get the country jumping for joy with a successful World Cup campaign.

The 1966 World Cup winners failed to get out of the group in 2014, when they were defeated by Italy and Uruguay, and lost 4-1 to Germany in the round of 16 in 2010.

We've selected players who can use the ball and the level of training is incredibly high at the moment, I have to say.
