Liverpool make decision over Alisson transfer as Real Madrid prepare move

The Roma stopper has been linked with Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid following an excellent season for the Champions League semi-finalists.

Taffarel believes Alisson will think twice about leaving Roma for Liverpool though.

The Reds have held interest in Alisson for a number of months and Jurgen Klopp is expected to sign a goalkeeper after Loris Karius' horror show in last month's Champions League final.

Though he is contracted to Roma until 2021, Alisson is likely to move this summer and he is keen to hear news before the tournament starts in Russian Federation.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claimed that Liverpool were willing to offer €65m for Alisson this summer, and manager Jürgen Klopp even promised the Brazil worldwide the No. 1 spot at Anfield next season.

'There are some possibilities and we are working on all of them, together with Roma, always respecting the club. If everything is not resolved, it will be discussed after the World Cup. The truth is that I left everything in the hands of my manager. "We'll see if something happens during this week".

1994 World Cup victor, now Alisson's worldwide goalkeeping coach, Claudio Taffarel told Tele Radio Stereo: "Alisson is very happy at Roma and the rumours of a transfer are just rumours".

While Il Tempo (cited by Read Liverpool) reported how the Reds were leading the race for Alisson's signature as discussions between the club and the player's agent, Zé Maria Neis, continued to develop. The Mirror's David Maddock reports on Monday evening that Liverpool "will step up their efforts to land Shaqiri when he returns from the World Cup, after receiving initial encouragement".
