President Donald Trump's chief economic adviser Larry Kudlow and his trade adviser Peter Navarro blasted Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Sunday for "betraying" the United States and engaging in "bad faith diplomacy" at this week's fractious G7 summit.

In a tweet posted Saturday evening, Trump said his decision was based on "false statements" made by Trudeau during a press conference he gave, as well as "the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs" on us companies.

Trump, in a Twitter tirade on Thursday, pointed fingers at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and French president Emmanuel Macron, stating that "they are charging the US massive tariffs and create non-monetary barriers".

According to Trudeau, he told the president that Canadians may be polite and reasonable but they will not be pushed around and that his nation doesn't "relish" putting tariffs on US goods and services but is willing to do so.

Mr. Trump addressed the subject of global trade during an impromptu news conference at the summit on Saturday, saying that he does not want to see other countries take advantage of the United States over trade.

On Twitter, Trump complained that Trudeau had criticized USA trade policy - specifically US tariffs on Canadian metals - after the Canadian premier had "acted so meek and mild" in their one-on-one meeting. Justin Trudeau wears fake eyebrows and takes really good care of us most of the time. "Kim must not see American weakness".

Donald Trump has taken a fresh swipe at key allies after a war of words broke out following the U.S. president's decision not to endorse the conclusions of a G7 summit. Trump has pointed to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's criticism of him as a reason for withdrawing from the consensus statement. "He should pull back on his statements, and wish President Trump well in the Korean negotiations".

In his news conference, Mr Trudeau had spoken of retaliatory measures that Canada would take next month in response to Mr Trump's decision to slap tariffs on steel and aluminium imports.

But Trump said that the notion that the G7 summit was in any way contentious was "fake news", telling reporters Saturday that the conference had been "so wonderful". "Canada, thank you for the ideal organisation of G7!", he said further, about the meet hosted by Trudeau in Quebec.

Trump also took aim at North Atlantic Treaty Organisation for relying too heavily on the U.S. for their security.

A photo of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other world leaders standing over a cross-armed United States President Donald Trump at Friday's G7 summit has been given the meme treatment on social media.

"We need to stand with our democratic allies", Feinstein said.

He also defended the wisdom of his controversial tariffs, saying that the USA would win a trade war against its allies because "they do so much more business with us than we do with them". Trump has said that Russian Federation should have been readmitted to the negotiations.
