A scientific team lead by Professor Abhijit Chakraborty of Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad has made a remarkable discovery. It contains at least three rocky planets, the radius of which is equal to or approximately equal to the earth, and the weight is 1.4, 0.9 and 1.3 times the mass of Earth. At least three rocky planets have been found, two of them being 1.1 times the radius of Earth, and the third planet being nearly the exact size. The find sees India join a small group of countries to have confirmed a planet outside our Solar System.
They spent a year a half at PRL's Gurushikhar Observatory in Mount Abu, India, studying the changes in light coming from the planet's host star, EPIC 211945201 or K2-236, and performing an independent confirmation of its mass.
Astronomers from the University of Oviedo in Spain said that they were able to detect the system, which includes three earth-like planets, writes the Chronicle.info with reference for Today.
It's estimated to be more than seven times closer to its star than we are, which means a year lasts just roughly 19.5 days. "It's closer to Neptune", he said.
Besides, according to the report made on this discovery, the Neptune-sized planet presents a surface temperature of about 600 degrees Celsius due to the fact that this exoplanet is orbiting very close to its host star.
The gravitational pull caused by a planet on its host star makes it wobble around their common center of mass, which shifts the spectra and can be measured in terms of Radial Velocity using precise and stabilised High Resolution Spectrographs, like the PARAS.
Based on the mass and radius, model-dependent calculations suggest that the heavy elements, like ice, silicates, and iron content is 60 to 70% of the total mass.
On the other hand, only a few such accurate and powerful spectrographs exist around the world, the majority of which being in the United States and Europe. Significantly, the discovery was made using a PRL-designed spectrograph, PARAS, to measure and confirm the mass of the new planet. Also, they are extremely far away.

Gears 5 will also be enhanced for Xbox One X, supporting 4K resolution and High Dynamic Range (HDR) at 60 frames per second (FPS). Yes, the highly popular and collectible Funko Pop toy franchise is branching out into games.
KFC to begin testing vegetarian alternative to chicken
KFC says that it was test chickenlike " vegetarian options " in Britain with its signature blend of herbs and spices. KFC knows it must get this right, or feathers will fly. "That's why we're looking into vegetarian options".
Mars had the ingredients needed for life
Curiosity also has confirmed seasonal increases of methane in the Martian atmosphere. What they can't say yet is whether there is, or ever was, life on the Red Planet .
