Burgers!? Twitter has a big beef over IHOb's concept change

11 June 2018, 04:58 | Myron Mathis

The global House of Pancakes, commonly known as IHOP, has officially switched its name.

Many took to social media to guess what the new name could be and most assumed the "b" would stand for 'breakfast.' They were wrong. The chain says that the flip is only a marketing campaign to remind their customers that the International House of Pancakes is more than just a place to grab breakfast, but lunch and dinner as well.

But the change might not be permanent. The P for pancakes is leaving us forever. Among the burgers now available are Big Brunch, Cowboy BBQ, Mushroom Swiss, Jalapeno Kick and Mega Monster. It doesn't seem like any of the restaurant chain's original items will be changed or replaced as a result of the new burgers. Starting at $6.99, folks can get one of their new burgers with a drink and endless fries.

"Burgers are a quintessential, American menu item so it makes ideal sense that IHOP, one of the most iconic, all-American comfort-food brands in the world, would go over the top to create a delicious line-up of quality burgers that hit the spot any time of day", IHOb head of culinary, Nevielle Panthaky, said according to a release.

The restaurant "formerly" known as the International House of Pancakes is rolling out all-natural, 100 percent USDA choice, black angus steakburgers for a limited time in seven different varieties on June 11.
