LeBron James takes shot at Blazers for not drafting Kevin Durant

Golden State Warriors’ Kevin Durant second from left celebrates after the Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-85 in Game 4 of basketball’s NBA Finals to win the NBA championship Friday

As evidenced in last night's (June 6) dagger three-pointer against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the third game of the 2018 NBA Finals, Durant's ice-cold nature on the court serves his team well but it's his work off the court that really stands out. Although they're up 3-0 and we saw Stephen Curry break the single-game Finals 3-point record in Game 2, the offense hasn't exactly been humming. Ty Lue and his coaching staff haven't found any winning solutions to the problems posed by Golden State, though, so it wouldn't be surprising to see the gameplan shift for Game 4. One reporter asked him if he thought Durant was going to be a superstar back when LeBron faced him and the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2012 NBA Finals.

Durant scored 43 points helping Golden State secure a 3 - 0 series lead over Cleveland.

A year on, the reigning Finals MVP produced a similar shot to end the Cavaliers' hopes of making a comeback.

It increased the Warriors' lead from three to six and ended the game as a contest as the Cavs struggled to find a way back.

The nine-time All-Star's display was legendary and he put himself alongside truly elite company with the numbers he put up.

These numbers are every bit as impressive as the 35.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists and 50/40/90 shooting splits, which earned him the NBA Finals MVP a year ago.

"That was incredible what he did out there tonight", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said, per ESPN's Chris Haynes. "Some of those shots, I don't think anybody in the world can hit those but him".

In Durant's one season at Texas, he was named the National College Player of the Year, and the Longhorns reached the second round of the NCAA tournament.

If Golden State finishes off LeBron with a sweep Friday, they'll have accomplished a second thing that Michael Jordan's Chicago dynasty in the 90s couldn't - swept a team in the Finals.
